Have you heard of Biophilic and Biophilic Design?

Perhaps you instinctively know you feel better or have a higher sense of wellness in environments that naturally support Biophilic Design. We want homes that feel good, that breathe with us, and that bring calm into our fast-paced lives.

So, say hello to curves, waves, and perfectly imperfect materials in raw textures, earthy tones, woven fibers, and clay.

Surround yourself with earth-toned palettes that are inspired by natures elements and break down the divide between indoors and outdoors spaces. Biophilic interior design is the art of doing this and not just with plants but with materials, textures and light that allows us to reconnect with nature and ourselves.

In 2025 Biophilic designs hits 5 points in the 10 top trends.

  1. It’s all about the human connection to nature. The word Biophilic means the “love of Life” or “love of living things”.
  1. Outdoor spaces are becoming a natural extension of the home with outdoor kitchens, living rooms and dining areas.
  1. Deep, rich earth toned colours that create a sense of being grounded are all part of the Biophilic move to calm and sophistication. Other wellness-focused spaces like a spa like retreat continue to help us keep calm in our fast-paced life.
  1. Have you noticed that buyers are shifting from the days of large open spaces, undefined spaces and are gravitating back to smaller well-defined rooms making the rooms feel warm and inviting.
  1. Curved doorways have taken the place of sharp corners and straight lines.  Arched doorways, round mirrors and wavy edged furniture creates a soft visual rhythm that just feels more relaxed. It’s a calm elegance, a feeling of serenity and a feeling that makes you want to stay and relax in that space.

Biophilic design elements all lead to a quieter type of elegance, and a lifestyle that invites you to exhale.
